Armin Hoffman was a distinguished Swiss graphic designer in the 1940's–50's. Hoffman was recognized by his striking yet simplistic compositions most often using type. His piece “Das Holz Als Baustoff” (1952) is an example of his work. The direct translation is "The wood as a building material."
